At the beginning of this year I decided I was going to have some ‘me time’ and attend some workshops with self development in mind. So, last month I went along to The Music Mill in Hathersage, Derbyshire, for a Capsule Wardrobe Workshop with Jessica Rose Williams.
Throughout the workshop we discussed personal style and created a mood board to help establish our individual style. I quickly realised that I was surrounded by like minded people and we all wanted to achieve the same thing… to feel confident and in control of our wardrobe and feel happy when we open the doors. This is something I have been wanting for such a long time and even after several attempts of sorting and donating clothes, I quickly fell back into old habits and my wardrobe rapidly become a mess filled with impulse purchases.
Jessica gave us lots of advice, practical sessions and took us through a workbook filled with thought provoking questions and exercises that really hit home with me. By the end of the workshop I was excited to make changes and feel more in control of what I was buying. I’m a little late to implementing things, but after a busy month with work I have now spent the morning with my wardrobe and I am so pleased with the results. It’s not quite at capsule wardrobe stage yet, but it looks so much better and I’ve found a couple of pieces I forgot I had! Don’t judge!
Here are the results of my wardrobe detox… stripes will always be one of my staples, along with denim, khaki green, grey woolly jumpers and cardigans, blush pink & tan accessories. Very much my day to day look, I need to look at my ‘going out’ wardrobe next!
