Whilst visiting the Opus Gallery in Ashbourne, I spotted a card with a drawing of a cake counter...I immediately turned it over hoping it was made in Derbyshire. To my delight, the card was made by Lucy Sheeran who is based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

I met with the lovely Lucy and she showed me a range of cards...I knew they were perfect for the fabulousplaces.co.uk website. I'm sure you'll agree, they're completely different and the attention to detail is just wonderful.

Lucy graduated from the Royal college of Art with an MA in Interior design in 1993 and then worked in Interior design practices in London, designing high end hotel restaurants and bars for going on 15 years until Lucy took a break have our son, Will.

Lucy made greetings cards as a hobby for many years, and then following a move to Derbyshire in May this year, with the aim of bringing Will up surrounded by fresh air and beautiful countryside, Lucy was inspired by the individual nature of some of the wonderful shops in this area, and wondered if she could make it into more than just a hobby!

Lucy has blended a little of her interior design background into the cards, but mainly using the things she loves as inspiration. Lucy is constantly adding to the card range and is currently working on a range of occasion cards such as new home, wedding congratulations etc. in addition to working on one-off designs and bespoke invitations and note cards. You can find Lucy’s cards in the following fabulous shops: Opus Gallery in Ashbourne, Lavender Grey in Belper, the Alphabet Giftshop in Mickleover and Bow at the Printworks in Cromford.
