I’m a big fan of the Country Parlour. I’ve been there on numerous occasions and will continue to go while they’re serving such delicious food. The food is made from freshly milled flour, vegetables that are delivered daily, free range eggs, and the tea and coffee are fair trade.
Daily offerings are displayed on the blackboards and there’s always something to tempt you. Don’t be put off with the vegetarian menu….I recommend the homity pie, it’s absolutely delicious! The cakes are to die for, displayed as you approach the ordering point, I doubt you will be able to resist. The portions are big and are served with a mixed salad, which is full of all sorts of yummy things.
Next time you’re passing Caudwells Mill, do pop in and try the homity pie. You can then walk it off by walking round the mill, craft units and the gift shop.

my whole family love, love, loves going to Caudwells Mill. Not just for the splendid food & coffee, served with fab views in the Parlour. But also to potter around perusing the gifts and crafts on offer. There's always something new and wonderful to browse(ahem, buy!)Ducks to feed, trout to spot, icecream to taste.... A good place to start, or end, a nice day out.

First I should say that I used to work at Caudwells Mill and apart from that fact Richard and Pat were great to work for, my favourite part of the job was that I got free lunches in the cafe. I agree that homity pie is good but don't forget that there are great salads too. You can always ask 'to hold the beetroot' if you aren't a fan.(There's an insider tip for you!)

The food here is just amazing, my partner and I are regulars here. Lunchtimes can be busy, but definitely worth the wait.

This is a great little stop-off for me on my Derbyshire days. Go for the homity pie, I have no idea what is in it but you can really taste the homity.
