Bow was recommended to me by Aleena Naylor at BBC Radio Derby. Bow is an absolutely delightful shop owned by Susanna Ash, who has a passion for all things gorgeous. The shop is hidden away on a tiny backstreet in Cromford….isn’t that always the case?!
Bow offers a wide range of locally made gifts and accessories including Susanna’s handmade original artwork in the form of wallpaper prints, canvas wall art, wall hanging lengths of unique one-off screen printed silk and cushions. Bow also offers handmade soaps, silver jewellery, chicken doorstops (my favourite!!). As well as the handmade pieces, Bow offers an eclectic mix of hand selected choice pieces from vases, oil burners and goddess guides to vintage chic, whistling kettles and much more! You’ll also find fresh eggs and gooseberries for sale, both of which are as local as it gets….Susanna’s garden.
Susanna Ash completed a degree in Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design and wanted to be able to exhibit some of her work as well as create an environment to show how talented the people of Derbyshire are. Susanna felt that Cromford was missing somewhere you could go and be assured to find something unique where you can find the perfect gift for someone who has everything.
A visit to Bow is highly recommended, especially if you’re looking for something special, whether it's a gift for a friend or a treat for yourself, I'm sure you'll find something to tempt you. You can also call into Scarthin Book Shop before you leave for a browse and a bite to eat.

Visited Bow on Easter Sunday whilst visiting Sue and her family. It was the first time I had seen the shop and I thought it was lovely. Lots of lovely gift ideas. I bought some lovely candles and cards from there.

I visited a few weeks back after making a list of shops to visit from this website. I wouldn't have found Bow otherwise, it's very hidden. The shop is so lovely and very reasonably priced...perfect for christmas gifts. The soaps are amazing...I'm buying all my family some for Christmas.
A little gem!

I was recommended this lovely little shop by a friend. I was greeted by a lovely Collie dog stretched across the front door, and the welcome inside is just as warm.
The Manager showcases her own art as well as lovely 'kitch' items for the home. I came away with some unique items to grace my period home. I want to leave a review - but at the same time don't want everyone to know about it!
what a find!!

I visited Bow @ the printworks this weekend. I have to say this is one of the nicest little shops I've been in for a long time. The owner was out but I met her Mum who was very welcoming. I'll deffinatly be back for a spot of Christmas shopping.
"Saved our lounge"!!

A hidden gem up Scarthin. Just bought "prehistoric chic" original artwork from Bow and it has literally "saved our lounge". It looks amazing hung on the wall and we especially like how its an original (you wont find this in ikea!) Service was great, and got to meet the owner and her mum... who were both very hepful and lovely. We left feeling very pleased with a beautiful piece of artwork and a gorgeous sounding recipe for cous cous salad (thanks Susanna's mum)!! We will definitely be back. Thanks bow

Definitely worth a visit!

I visited Bow shortly after reading about it on this website. Such a lovely little shop and everything is so reasonably priced!
Truly unique

A real treat. The shop is tiny but packs a punch! The use of space is amazing. I came to buy a small print for the spare room and ended up with a whole set of 3! Mine were satin textiles from her "prehistoric collection", really unusual and reasonably priced (£20 each - not bad for originals). The cushions are lovely too and there's also a great selection of greeting cards. It was well worth the 30 minute train ride from Derby.
